Privatizing Foreign Aid Relief

The terrible diseaster in southwest Asia that unfolded several weeks ago has been extensively covered by the media, which uncovers a few things. The US media actually covering a foreign tragedy for more than 48 hours, but it seems now is only still covering because of ratings, or some reason I don't believe is from the heart. Where is the spotlight on Africa where the numbers dying are horrific, or the Sudan where tens of thousands are being killed by radical muslim rebels. Where's the outrage? Where's the administration? How many times do we have to hear that the thousands of of US soldiers lost and the billions spent were to protect the people of Iraq, well what about the Sudan where the killing in greater numbers is now. It makes no sense. What kind of incoherent, pick and choose policy is this and who are they fooling besides the people who watch False...I mean FoxNews. There have been surprises both good and bad in our country in reaction to this event that happened so far away. One is the incredible private donations that Americans have given, it's something like 4 in 10 Americans pledged some kind of donation. But what is troubling is that our government decided to rely on the good faith of some of America and officialy pledged far less than we should. We are now privatizing foreign aid. No longer is America as a whole showing good will, just 1 in 3. Michael Savage who's an idiot summed it up best, "I don't want to give a dime to these people in Asia, diseasters will happen and if the bleeding heart liberals want to help, let them donate". Hence the White House pushing private donations, as to not piss off their supporters who would need that $100 donation for another share in the market tomorrow. I think I'd like to make funding the war in Iraq private now too, for those who wanted the war, that's fine, you pay for it.

Comments:
Funding for the war in Iraq IS practically becoming privatized, what with soldiers' families sending them the armored outfitting they don't have and such.
